Carlos Ortiz Retiring After 35-Year Run as GC of Goya Foods

 After 35 years as vice president and general counsel of Goya Foods, Carlos Ortiz is retiring, according to the company.

In a Jan. 6 press release, the Jersey City-based Hispanic food consumer packaged goods giant announced Ortiz’s exit, saying he has “played a crucial role in enhancing Goya’s brand and revenue.”

Since 1989, Ortiz has safeguarded the company’s legal rights and advised its leadership on various legal matters, such as corporate governance, labor laws and intellectual property. Prior to his tenure at Goya, Ortiz worked as an auditor, tax consultant, law clerk and litigator.
